This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected by MIGXGROUP PTY LTD (ABN 88 701 041 358), trading as AutismX (we, us, our), through the AutismX website and app (the Platform). AutismX is a peer support and resources platform for families navigating a child's autism diagnosis in Australia. We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

References to you in this policy mean the parent, carer, or guardian who registers an account and uses the Platform. AutismX accounts are held by adults. Any information about a child that appears in a journal entry, a therapy note, or a Community post is provided by the parent or carer account holder, not collected directly from the child.

We may collect:

• Identity and contact information such as your name, email address, and location.
• Information you provide about your child, including diagnosis status, age, therapy history, and any other detail you choose to include in a journal entry, therapy note, or Community post. This is sensitive information under the Privacy Act, and providing it is always your choice.
• Content you create on the Platform, including journal entries, therapy notes forwarded to your AutismX inbox, Community posts and comments, and private messages to other users.
• Technical information such as device and browser information, and usage data collected automatically when you use the Platform.

Without some of this information, we may not be able to provide certain features, such as the journal, Therapy Notes inbox, or Community.

We collect personal information directly from you when you register, write a journal entry, send or receive a message, post in Community, or forward an email to your Therapy Notes inbox. We do not collect personal information about your child from any source other than you.

We use your personal information to provide the Platform's features, including your journal, Therapy Notes inbox, Community, and private messaging. We use it to run automated moderation checks on content you post or messages you send, to help identify safety concerns such as crisis language or grooming behaviour, and to send you account related and, where you've agreed, onboarding and product emails.

Where our AI features are used, including journal story generation and content moderation, relevant text is processed via the Anthropic API to generate that output. We do not use your information to train third party AI models, and text is de-identified where our story generation feature specifically states this.

We may disclose personal information to:

• Our service providers, including Supabase for data hosting (hosted in Sydney, Australia), Resend for sending emails, and Anthropic for AI-assisted features such as story generation and content moderation.
• Law enforcement or government authorities where required or authorised by law, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to prevent a serious threat to someone's life, health, or safety, including in relation to child safety concerns identified through our moderation systems.
• Other users of the Platform, only to the extent you choose to share information yourself through a public Community post, a comment, or a private message to another user.

Some of our service providers, including Anthropic, may process information on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

We store data on secure, encrypted infrastructure and apply role-based access controls so that only authorised systems and personnel can access personal information, consistent with the principle of least privilege. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and while we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Private messages between users are reviewed by automated AI moderation rather than a human moderator reading every message in real time. While this system is designed to catch safety concerns such as crisis language, abuse disclosure, and grooming behaviour, automated moderation can occasionally miss content or behave unexpectedly. You should use the Report function if you see something concerning rather than assuming it will always be caught automatically.

AutismX is designed for use by parents, carers, and guardians, not by children directly. Information about your child is provided by you and is used only to provide the features you choose to use, such as your private journal or Therapy Notes inbox. This information is never made public unless you choose to include it in a Community post, and you control what you share there.

You can access or correct most of your information directly within your account. For anything else, or to make a privacy complaint, contact us at support@autismx.org. We will investigate and aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner on 1300 363 992 or at www.oaic.gov.au.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
